SPECIAL ISSUE PROPOSAL GUIDELINES

Prospective Guest Editors are invited to prepare a detailed Special Issue proposal and submit it by email to the TAP Editorial Office at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

The proposal should clearly outline the intended focus of the Special Issue, specifying its aims, technical scope, and the types of studies it seeks to attract.

The proposal must include:

  • Title and potential topical areas for contributing authors.
  • A short justification (2–4 paragraphs) explaining why the topic is timely, which recent advances or gaps it addresses, and the anticipated impact on the antennas & propagation community.
  • A list of prospective contributors (name, affiliation, country), indicating whether each has been contacted and/or confirmed.
  • Guest Editor team details, including for each Guest Editor: name, affiliation, contact information, a concise biography (100–150 words), and up to ten relevant key publications. One Guest Editor should be designated as the Lead Guest Editor, who will serve as the primary contact with TAP and coordinate the editorial workflow. The proposal should outline the responsibilities of the Lead and Co-Guest Editors regarding manuscript handling, reviewer assignment, and conflict-of-interest management. TAP strongly encourages diverse and balanced editorial teams representing different geographic regions, institutions, and technical subfields to broaden participation, enhance visibility, and ensure a fair, inclusive review process.
  • A proposed timeline indicating key milestones (e.g., Call for Papers launch, submission deadline, review windows, and revision periods).
  • A dissemination plan summarizing the intended outreach channels (e.g., TAP website, IEEE platforms, social media, mailing lists, conferences), target audiences, and success metrics (e.g., downloads, submissions, geographic reach).

Submitted proposals are evaluated by the TAP Editorial Board based on relevance to TAP's scope, scientific and technical significance, timeliness, and innovation. Proposers will be informed of the Editorial Board's decision via email. If a proposal is accepted, the Lead Guest Editor will work with the TAP Editorial Office to finalize the title, Call for Papers, and schedule.

Submissions will be handled through TAP's manuscript system and will follow the journal's standard editorial procedures.

For guidance or informal queries prior to submission, prospective Guest Editors are encouraged to contact the TAP Editorial Office at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
