Special Section on Selected expanded articles from ICEAA-IEEE APWC 2025

This special section aims to collect articles of high scientific quality and lasting archival value that delve into selected papers presented at the 26th International Conference on Electromagnetics in Advanced Applications (ICEAA), and the 14th IEEE-APS Topical Conference on Antennas and Propagation in Wireless Communications (IEEE APWC), held in Palermo, Italy, from September 8 to 12, 2025.

Submitted articles shall be an extension of those originally accepted and presented at ICEAA - IEEE APWC 2025 and must significantly expand the scope of the original article in terms of overall technical content and research results. A similarity of less than 30% is required. All manuscripts will undergo a peer review process as for regular IEEE OJAP articles. This also applies to articles invited by the Conference's Technical Program Committee for this section. Submissions will open on October 15, 2025, and the deadline is February 28, 2026.

Potential topics
Articles in the special section will be grouped into the following topical areas:

  1. Antennas and Arrays: Theory, Modeling, Design, Fabrication, Measurements and Applications
  2. Propagation, Scattering, Radiation
  3. Materials, Metamaterials, Complex media and Periodic Structures
  4. Electromagnetic Theory, Electromagnetics, Quantum Engineering, Nano Electromagnetics
  5. Microwave Devices, Optics, Millimeter-and Submillimeter-wave technology
  6. Computational Electromagnetics including Artificial Intelligence
  7. Wireless Communications, Networks, MIMO, Antenna Signal Processing and Control
  8. Security, Defense, EMC, Power
  9. Bioelectromagnetic, Electromagnetics in Biology and Medicine
  10. Space Science, Monitoring, Radio Astronomy, Radar, Imaging

Submission guidelines
When submitting, please consider the following requirements:

  1. The manuscript must expand on the content of the conference paper. Differences from the conference paper must be adequately discussed and highlighted in the text. In the cover letter, authors must provide detailed information on how the manuscript constitutes a technically extended version of the conference paper.
  2. In the manuscript, the conference paper must be listed as one of the references and clearly cited in the text. Please report the cited conference paper also in the Cover Letter
  3. The Cover Letter shall report one or max two suggested topical areas. The Cover Letter should report the TPC invitation statement, when applicable.
  4. The manuscript, together with the accompanying documents - cover letter, conference paper, and IEEE copyright transfer form - must be submitted electronically at IEEE Author Portal according to the format available at IEEE Template Selector.

When uploading your manuscript, please select the following TYPE: “Selected expanded articles from ICEAA-IEEE APWC 2025”. Do not forget to also upload the cover letter. Failure to follow the above requests will result in the immediate return of the manuscript to the author(s) as an unacceptable submission.
