Winners of the 2024 Harold A. Wheeler Applications Prize Paper Award announced

Winners of the 2024 Harold A. Wheeler Applications Prize Paper Award announced

We extend our warmest congratulations to Thomas Jaschke and Arne F. Jacob for their paper titled "A Dual-Polarized SIW Lens Antenna Array for Rx-/Tx-Integration at K/Ka-Band" which was awarded with the 2024 Harold A. Wheeler Applications Prize Paper Award.

Their awarded paper, published in the March 2023 issue of the IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, reports a terminal antenna with dual-circular polarization operating around 20 and 30 GHz, that is, in the down- and uplink frequency bands of current satellite communication systems. The passive array, the work focuses on, integrates the receive and the transmit (Rx/Tx) paths in a single aperture. This approach is shown to be advantageous compared to classical solutions with two separate antennas.

The awarded paper will be available as open access until 31st December 2024
