Technical Committee 5: Electromagnetics and Fundamentals
Roles
The Electromagnetics and Fundamentals (EM & Fundamentals) AP-S TC provides leadership and support to the AP-S community on all aspects of fundamental electromagnetic theory and its applications, pertaining to electromagnetic phenomena in structures, devices, and systems. The role of this TC includes promoting research, disseminating knowledge, organizing technical sessions and workshops at conferences, and identifying emerging trends and challenges in the field. The TC also plays a crucial role in fostering education and outreach activities related to fundamental electromagnetics.
Scope
- Theory of antennas, antenna arrays and antenna systems.
- Fundamental electromagnetic theory in complex media, metamaterials, metasurfaces and structures.
- New electromagnetic phenomena.
- Radiation effects and electromagnetic phenomena in nano and quantum systems.
- Emerging frontiers in electromagnetic and radiating systems.
- Electromagnetic waves and radiation in periodic, time-varying and non-linear media.
- Diffraction effects in various environments.
- Electromagnetic theory in the time and frequency domains.
