Technical Committee 3: Propagation and Scattering

Propagation, Scattering, Channel Characterization

Roles

The roles of the AP-S TC on Propagation and Scattering are to promote the area of Propagation and Scattering and enlarge its visibility within IEEE AP-S and beyond. TC3 provides leadership and support to the AP-S community regarding all aspects of Propagation, Scattering and Channel Characterization. This will be done – but not limited to - by actively engage with the Conference Organizing Committees (COC) of future editions of the flagship conference, the Editors in Chief (EIC) of the AP-S journals, with other Organizations with similar committees via liaisons and by establishing methods to enable networking among students working the in area of propagation, scattering and channel characterization.

Scope

  1. Terrestrial, urban, indoor and body-area propagation.
  2. Tropospheric and ionospheric propagation.
  3. Channel and propagation measurement campaigns.
  4. Channel sounding, channel emulation and testing.
  5. Channel and Propagation modeling including channel models for standardization.
  6. Propagation and scattering in random or complex media.
  7. Scattering, RCS, diffraction and rain attenuation.
  8. Inverse scattering and imaging.
  9. Remote sensing.
  10. AI methods in Propagation.

Liaison

Liaisons with other organizations working on propagation:

  1. EurAAP Working Group Propagation (Chair: Prof. Lorenzo Luini)
  2. IEEE Vehicular Technology Society – Propagation Committee (Chair: Prof. David W. Matolak)
  3. URSI Commission F (Chair: Prof. Motoyuki Sato)
  4. ...

The list is not closed. AP/S TC3 is currently in the process of establishing other liaisons.
