Introducing nanoFarField: A Low-Cost Antenna Measurement Platform

The IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (AP-S) TC-10 is proud to announce nanoFarField, a new low-cost antenna measurement platform developed to democratize access to antenna testing and characterization for universities, teaching labs, and early-stage research groups worldwide.

Developed by Antenom, nanoFarField provides a practical, portable, and highly affordable solution that enables hands-on antenna measurements for undergraduate and graduate education, support for senior design and capstone projects, and select foundational antenna and RF research without needing costly anechoic facilities.antenna engineering. AP-S and Antenom will collaborate closely with educators, student groups, and institutions working to bring high-quality, accessible antenna measurement capabilities to classrooms and labs.

This platform offers a streamlined path for institutions to introduce real experimental antenna characterization. nanoFarField reflects AP-S’s ongoing commitment to broadening technical access, enhancing STEM training, and enabling global participation.
