IEEE AP-S Young Professional Ambassador Program

The objective of this program is to inspire and inform AP-S Young Professionals on a variety of topics both technical and non-technical to enhance their interest and engagement in the field of Antennas and Propagation by delivering the talks at various chapters/sections "on-demand" virtually.

Decisions will normally be made before the end of the year to start term from January following year. All new Ambassadors are required to give at least two lectures during the tenure of one year. The call for candidates will open once a year and Ambassadors are selected for a term of 1 year, with possible extension to a second year. Young Professional Ambassadors are eligible for the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society Young Professional of the Year Award.

To be eligible, each applicant:

• Must be an IEEE AP-S Member
• Must belong to IEEE YP Group as defined by IEEE (IEEE members and volunteers who have graduated from their first professional degree within the past 15 years (https://yp.ieee.org/), graduated after January 2011)
• Have 5 years or more experience reflecting professional maturity.

Application:

You need to upload the following four files to the system. Please note that all four files are mandatory, and any additional material, including items that exceed the length limits, will not be considered.

1. Resume (2 pages maximum) including your IEEE AP-S membership number
2. Title(s) and brief abstract(s) of the proposed talk(s) (maximum of 2 talks), and a 500-word biography with photo
3. A brief write-up (maximum 1000 words) describing the benefits of the proposed talk(s) to the AP-S Young Professionals (YP) community
4. A link to a 5-minute video sample of any proposed talk (YouTube, OneDrive, Google Drive, or Dropbox; please ensure the link is accessible to everyone)

Selection Criteria:

Candidates will be judged by a Selection Panel on their qualifications and suitability, according to the following selection criteria:

• Presentation skills (35%)
• A growing trajectory of accomplishment in the field of Antennas and Propagation (35%)
• Quality and relevance of proposed lectures to YP (30%)
