In addition, local Chapters can organize activities throughout that entire week, including workshops, technical lectures, and networking events, to foster community engagement, promote innovation, and highlight technology for the benefit of humanity.

Objectives:

This initiative embraces a high-level, big-picture approach, ensuring accessibility for a broad and multifaceted audience. The following are the objectives of this initiative:

  • Increase global visibility of microwave, antenna, and propagation technologies.
  • Engage the general public beyond the traditional IEEE technical community.
  • Inspire students and young professionals to pursue careers in EM-related fields.
  • Highlight humanitarian, societal, and sustainability contributions.
  • Strengthen collaboration between MTT-S and AP-S worldwide.

Financial Support

Local MTT-S and AP-S Chapters are encouraged to utilize their available chapter funds to organize activities. Additionally, financial support of up to USD 200 will be provided as an augmentation financial support for events.

Call for Events

MTT-S and AP-S invite all chapters worldwide to participate in IEEE Antenna & Microwave Tech Day which will be celebrated globally each year on 13th May. In addition to the main day, local Chapters will have the flexibility to organize activities throughout the entire week. The theme for 2026 is “Wireless for Humanity”.

This global celebration aims to make antenna, microwave, and propagation technologies visible, relatable, and inspiring to society at large. Chapters are encouraged to plan events that demonstrate how electromagnetic technologies enable connectivity, healthcare, sensing, sustainability, and disaster resilience for humanity.
