Recipients of the 2023 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society C. J. Reddy Travel Grant for Graduate Students
The IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (AP-S) C. J. Reddy Travel Grant for Graduate Students aims to help graduate students attend the annual IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation and further their research work in the field of antennas and propagation.
This year for the IEEE AP-S/URSI 2023 Portland, we are pleased to announce that the following recipients have been selected by the IEEE AP-S Education Committee (coordinated by Eng Leong Tan and Frankie Chiu). They are sorted according to their last names as below:
Serene Abu-Sardanah has been awarded the grant to further her research and to present her paper entitled “A Wearable mmWave Radar System for Continuous Cardiopulmonary Monitoring”. She is currently pursuing her degree with her advisor George Shaker at University of Waterloo.
Ilir Gashi has been awarded the grant to further his research and to present his paper entitled “Analysis and Design of Inhomogeneous Lens Antennas by using the Fast-Sweeping Method”. He is currently pursuing his degree with his advisor Matteo Albani at University of Siena.
Cristina Origlia has been awarded the grant to further her research and to present her paper entitled “Experimental Validation of a Microwave Scanner for Brain Stroke Monitoring in Realistic Head Models”. She is currently pursuing her degree with her advisor Francesca Vipiana at Politecnico di Torino.
Christopher Ryu has been awarded the grant to further his research and to present his paper entitled “Efficient Numerical Analysis for Few-Atom Cavity Quantum Electrodynamics Using the Coupling Matrix Approach”. He is currently pursuing his degree with his advisor Weng Cho Chew at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Ravikanth Thanikonda has been awarded the grant to further his research and to present his paper entitled “Dual Circularly Polarized Metasurface Antenna”. He is currently pursuing his degree with his advisor Stefano Maci at University of Siena.
Youn Youngno has been awarded the grant to further his research and to present his paper entitled “Energy-efficient Wireless Channel Deployment using Self-Sustainable Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface with Cognitive Radio Sensors”. He is currently pursuing his degree with his advisor Wonbin Hong at Pohang University of Science and Technology.
