Special Issue on Wireless Healthcare Biotechnology

Advances in medical devices, implantable systems, medical imaging, rehabilitative devices and safety standards have taken place with significant contribution from leaps in wireless technologies, telemetry, electromagnetic imaging algorithms and computational methods, among other disciplines. These disciplines are at the core of interest of the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society: through this special issue, the IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation solicits contributions on the topics above and other related topics in the field of interest of the IEEE AP Society, including but not limited to:

  • Wireless powering and data telemetry for medical devices and implants;
  • Electromagnetic imaging, algorithms and devices;
  • Bioelectromagnetic effects;
  • Patient monitoring in Low-Resource environments;
  • Remote diagnosis and patient management;
  • Sensing of vital signs and signatures;
  • Sensor technology;
  • Intra-body propagation and communication;
  • Real-time transmission of multiple medical data;
  • Wireless access in ubiquitous systems;
  • Wearable computing and communication;
  • Body sensor networks;
  • Wireless and wearable devices for pervasive healthcare;
  • Implantable, ingestible and injectable devices;
  • Medical device control via wireless technology.

Prospective authors are encouraged to contact the Guest Editors to explore the suitability to the Special Issue of their intended contribution. Manuscripts should conform to the requirements for regular T-AP papers, as specified in the information for authors on the website at http://ieeeaps.org/aps_trans. All invited and contributed papers must be submitted through the T-AP Manuscript Central website (https://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/tap-ieee) with a statement to the Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE T-AP that they are intended for this Special Issue.
